Why we LOVE Ancestry.com

Posted on January 7, 2021January 23, 2021 by Bethany

This is THE website for us.  While we use others, this website has been invaluable to us in our family research. We have been paid members for quite a few years and feel it is worth every penny.  While we occasionally think it would be nice to reach the end some day, they keep coming across new records for us to examine.  At the moment, we are eagerly awaiting the release of the 1950 US Census, which will keep us busy for quite awhile and hopefully open new doors for us.

It really is a good community to be a part of. We’ve made new friends, found MANY new cousins, and helped in mending a few broken family connections (thanks to their DNA kits too).

We urge you to create a free account at Ancestry.com and add your family tree, however small it may be. You never know who will contact you with some valuable information that you didn’t know, or someone who might need a little bit of your knowledge to make the puzzle fit that they’ve been working on.   And if nothing else you connect with new family – yay!

If you find that you need a little help, they have tons of that!  From articles, to a community forum, Hire an Expert, Ancestry Academy, they’re even on YouTube.  (YouTube is great – check out Crista Cowan aka The Barefoot Genealogist. She has a wealth of information to share.)
